Q&A

Q: Who’s John?

A: John is a 27-year-old queer producer, engineer, and writer based in Denver, CO. Since graduating from the Los Angeles campus of ICON Collective College of Music in 2019, he’s been gaining a reputation as a skilled audio engineer and music producer. John is known for his unique sonic profile—lush soundscapes set to meticulously crafted beats.

Q: What’s your favorite style to produce?

A: I love creating organic atmospheres with dramatic percussion and emotive chords (think James Blake, Flume) but I’m always down for a challenge! I really pride myself on the ability to work within different genres—from pop to R&B to folk.

Q: What should clients know before hiring you?

A: With every project, my goal is that you (as the artist) are 100% in love with the final product. That’s why I always include revisions free of charge—to ensure all the details are perfected before anything is finalized.

Q: Can we work together remotely?

A: Yes! Since the start of 2020, a majority of my projects were completed without ever meeting in person. Even if you’ve never worked with a producer online before, my workflow is super comprehensive and will fit the needs of most projects.

Q: What are your rates?

A: Feel free to contact me for current rates.

Q: What software/hardware do you use?

A: Ableton Live 12, Logic Pro X, and Melodyne 5 Studio are some tools I use on almost every project.
